We are having a baby girl and I’m super excited about this opportunity to design a pink room! I want this space to be calming and nostalgic, so I’ve incorporated elements from my childhood like the light pink color, the vintage danish plates, and, of course, dogs.
This concept is pretty neutral — In an effort to avoid a sad beige baby, I plan to incorporate color in smaller decor touches and toys. The modern elements in this room, like the natural wood crib, contrast beautifully with the vintage-inspired black dresser and gold lamp.
As a starting point for this nursery, I found these adorable paintings by Cathy Walters. Her animal collection is so precious. It’s a bonus that these happen to look just like our pups! They go great with the Sherwin Williams Intimate White on the walls.
The piece I struggled the most with is the nursery glider. I wanted something cream-colored (will I regret this when I have the child? TBD) and my husband wanted something tall enough to rest his head. We ended up going with the Babyletto Kiwi Glider, which glides, swivels, and reclines. It hasn’t arrived yet so I’ll update you later if it meets the hype.
