Mmmm this rattan trend is one of my favorites and I’m not alone because this stuff is popping up EVERYWHERE. Funny how it used to be tacky to own wicker furnture… Well it ain’t no more! Your granny’s house is on trend.
So let’s break down the differences between the multiple terms used to describe this gorgeous, natural, woven furniture.
Wicker is actually the process of weaving these natural materials together.
Rattan refers to species of climbing palm trees. Rattan is commonly used for wickerwork, but seagrass, resin, bamboo and a number of other materials can also be used.
Cane actually refers to the outer bark of rattan, and is commonly used to bind materials together.
