We’ve been in our 2-bedroom apartment for a year and a half and it’s been a great first home for us and our dog, Codie. I get a lot of questions about decorating and where I find certain pieces, so I wanted to share this post with some pieces in our living room. I did take these photos last winter so I plan to update soon.
I’ve always loved interior design and decorating, so decorating our first place together was a bit of a struggle at the beginning. We may have had a few arguments when I wanted new curtains but Collin preferred the old ones, or that time I ordered our ottoman after Collin said he didn’t like it…
But now our apartment reflects both of our styles and has items that mean a lot to each of us. (I even let him hang a canvas of our college football stadium in our entryway – so don’t say I can’t compromise.)
This gallery wall above the TV has been my most recent project. I had the Yellowstone sign made for Collin for Christmas to commemorate our engagement. CF Weddings made the board (they were so great to work with) and I attached the wooden Yellowstone cutout. The buffalo picture, yarn hanging and gold branch are all from Target. The world board is from Michael’s. TV stand is from a local store called Homemakers.
These adorable wooden pieces – wolf and tree – are from Yellowstone. The Hawaiian god carving is from Maui, we got him from the sweetest vendor at an art show. We were drawn to this one and turns out he’s the god of happiness, prosperity and love! The vendor carved our names on the back for us.
I love how this ottoman has a cozy feel to it with the tufted leather top as well as sleek modern lines of the base. I got the ottoman from Overstock. The tray on top is from World Market.
The lotus rug is from Joanna’s Magnolia collection.
Sorry for the low-quality lighting, but this gives an idea of the layout of the space. I love this three-tiered lamp from Target and these sheer curtains from Overstock.
I got this chair from Pier One, unfortunately sold out but linked similar ones here. The geometric side table is from Target. (Target for life.)
Also – the barrel shelf is from the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg. Collin’s parents brought it and a side table back for us.
Here’s the side table, also built from a whisky barrel. Pillows are from Pier One.
This table was my great grandma’s and I cherish it. It’s small but the perfect size for this little space and has cool little metal accents. These photos were taken in February, so I still had my winter decor up in this space. The string-light trees are from a cute shop in Collin’s hometown. The candle holder is from Target.
I love these gold branch shelves. They’re from Home Goods. The copper accents throughout this space are from my step grandma.
Codie thinks this space is perfect for a long nap. 🙂
Please reach out if you have any questions on any of the items above! I hope to update this post with some of my newer items the next time I do my yearly vacuuming. (Just kidding. Or am I.)
