I have a bad habit of waiting to share things until they’re ABSOLUTELY perfect. Not just on this blog, but as a recurring theme throughout my life. I don’t ask for my coworkers thoughts on an independent work project until I think there’s absolutely nothing I’d change about it. When I used to paint I wouldn’t show anyone my work until it was “complete.”
But I’ve always learned most from others who share their work-in-progress, rough drafts and not-yet-completes. Instagram is so full of perfection that it’s easy to forget the process someone else went through to get to where they are today. One thing I appreciate most about the blogging community on Instagram is that so many girls are willing to share their not-so-perfect stories to benefit others.
I’m actually really excited about how our house is coming along so today I wanted to share a few images before I reveal the entire space. I think this is one of the most light, airy and bohemian spaces I’ve decorated so I thought it was fitting that I wear my couchella look – that’s also suitable for the volatile Midwest Spring weather. I so appreciate those of you that shop my links. If you see something pictured that’s not linked please DM me and I’ll find it for you!
Shop my outfit
- Bell bottom jeans
- Black hat
- Chloe dupe bag from Amazon
This amazing dupe Chloe bag was a find by one of my favorite bloggers, Gypsy Tan. It did come from China (as so many dupes do) so it took a few weeks to get to me, but I’m impressed with the quality. The straps are removable and would be cute as a clutch.
I’m loving these bell-bottom jeans. They’re the perfect length for wedges and the seam in front is such a fun detail. If you won’t be wearing with heels, I’d recommend getting a short length.
Shop my home
- Sofa
- Living room rug
- Entry way rug (pictured under accessories)
- Floating reclaimed wood shelves
- Leather bench coffee table
- Striped pillow
- Blue pillow
- End table
- End table lamp
- Kitchen table On sale!
- Kitchen chairs
- Bar stools
My favorite white planters sold out in Wayfair’s Wayday sale but I will link here in case of restock! My favorite piece by far is the area rug, I love the subtle tribal print and the light, creamy colors and think it really does a lot for the room.
My biggest goal in the living room was to lighten the space. When I share the full before and after, you’ll see how small the room truly is and the dark fireplace that was there before. I’m so happy with how it’s come together so far and I can’t wait to share the full reveal.
Thanks for reading!
