Decorating on a Budget: Dorm and College Apartment Style
Okay I have to admit it, I’m so glad dorm living is in my past. But, it can be a fun challenge to decorate these small spaces. (Plus, it might be one of the few times in your life you don’t have to compromise on your decor style. #marriage.)
Since my college dorm was incredibly dingy and icky– er, I mean, a clean slate… If I was going back I’d choose a neutral palette with pops of bright, girly colors like yellow, orange and pink.
I also think this is one of the few times in your life when it’s not tacky to hang art without frames so go absolutely wild on those motivational posters. I linked some super cute ones below (all under $20!) that would look great in a collage on a dorm/apartment wall.
The best part is all of these items are under $100!
(Ok I lied, there’s one exception: the ottoman is $120 but still on sale and a great deal.) And heck, even if you’ve been out of college for 20 years, don’t sleep on a great deal, sis. Enjoy!

I love storage ottomans for small spaces because you’ll always need extra storage. Plus, this might be a good place to hide things you don’t want your RA to find. Like cats or wine. Just kidding. Never put a cat in an ottoman. I linked some cute duvets below too.
